I could tell it wasn’t going to irritate the skin and this is a good sign. However, I didn’t feel that it really benefited my skin as it didn’t feel as soft in this area. The oil didn’t make my skin feel greasy so it did it’s job there. ![]() This can affect the performance of some oils, especially the mid range ones. The soft feeling did fade away in the early afternoon but I was out in the sun for a couple of hours. It soaked in nicely and when spread really covered the beard well. My beard felt soft and smooth which almost made up for the staying power. Ultimately though, you need that scent to hang around for a minimum of 3 hours. Obviously you can add more during the day which will enhance the smell for longer. I prefer a scent that lasts into the afternoon but this one barely made it past breakfast! Such a shame considering how nice the initial scent was. I was out for about an hour walking and pottering in the garden and the scent had all but disappeared. I like it when an oil reminds me of something, it makes it more personal. You know when you squeeze the lemon over the pancake. In the background there was a bit of tangy grapefruit which only added to the zest.Īs I applied it to my beard and moustache it bizarrely reminded me of pancake day. I do like a citrus oil and this did not disappoint. ![]() The citrusy fragrance hit me straight away and was pleasant. So that’s what I did! Rinsed, patted dry and got hold of the bottle. Testing the beard oil.įor those of you who have read my reviews before you know I like to at least rinse my beard before testing an oil. My presumption is that they were aiming for a wider market and with the introduction of more products that aren’t beard related it makes sense. I quite liked the old branding if I’m honest with the bear in a jacket. I actually had a couple of oils but I chose to go with the Citrus as it was unopened so would represent the brand better. I had used it before but never thought of putting it to my 5 factor testing so I decided to give it a go. This was when their packaging looked a little different! I did cheat a little here as I already had the Citrus Beard Oil which I received before they re branded. Check out what I thought in my Brisk Beard Oil Review.
